5 ways to Increase self-confidence

How do you become the person you would like to be without first being clear on which path to take?

Be Self-Aware

Being clear on what your strengths and skills are is a strong start on the journey to self-awareness. Making a list of the things you are good at and matching these with skillsets that you have can result in employment that you love, that challenges you and develops you as a person.

Have self-belief.

Every day, jotting down 1-2 things you like about yourself will enhance your self-esteem.

Each day for a month, you should try and write a different quality or characteristic you like about yourself so that you will have a list of 30 things that reinforce you whenever you need a mental boost. Practicing self-compassion and being kind to yourself will also increase your sense of well-being and general happiness.

Adopt a Growth Mindset

Your mindset is simply how you think about ability and talent.

A fixed mindset suggests that your abilities and talents are finite. A growth mindset is one that believes skills can be improved through practice and learning. Establishing a growth mindset means that you will see failure as an opportunity to develop and learn and even change your lifes path completely.

A growth mindset allows you to take on difficult tasks and put in the amount of effort required to become a better version of yourself.

Develop Resilience

This is something that goes a long way in the current climate.

We are in the aftermath of a Global Pandemic and our resilience is what allows us to accept what we cannot change and face the future with optimism..

Challenges in life are inevitable however having the ability to reframe these as bumps in the road is what allows us to alter the journey that follows.

Controlling what you can control and letting go of things you cannot go a long way. If you become overwhelmed, you will not have the ability to break each challenge down into small and more manageable steps.

Think outside the box

2021 is the perfect time to switch careers. Most of us do not enjoy change and the distress and ambiguity that comes with it.

However, for the last year and a half, all of our lives have been altered or changed in some shape or form. We have learned the hard way that no job is fully secure and now may be the ideal time to think about the future.

It is a great time to consider that course you had always wanted to do but your other job got in the way. Now you have the time and opportunity to reconsider your life and take a different path. You have time and this is a fantastic opportunity to begin a brand-new career. This is an excellent time to show how adaptable and flexible you are as a person in a time of massive uncertainty, it is time to take the bull by the horns and drive towards your goals.
